Lunar Eclipse Over St. Augustine, Florida

The Lunar Eclipse Over St. Augustine, Florida was as beautiful as the night was clear. We started watching at 1:30 a.m. seeing a spectacular full moon and the beginning of the eclipse. From 2:41 to 3:53 a.m. we saw the total eclipse begin and end with 3:17 a.m. being the "mid-eclipse" or total eclipse. The video below shows up to 4:35 a.m. Pictures of historic downtown St. Augustine are shown during the eclipse. We watched a spectacular sunset over the Intracoastal and the full moon rise over the Atlantic Ocean earlier. What a wonderful way to observe the Winter Solstice.

I am bookmarking to come back and watch!  It's been raining in Las Vegas for a while so we didn't get to see it :-/

Quietly spectacular--there's a monster winter storm hovering over LA so no lunar eclipse visible to the naked eye for me.  Your's was the next best thing.

Thanks much for sharing this! My significant other's been to St. Augustine and loved it there. It is on my list of places to visit in the coming years!

Joyce & Ann -Yes, I will be like Puff today (a-draggin') but it was so worth it!

Esther - you must come to St. Augustine. I will show you around or stay out of your way and let you know the cool spots.

Norma &   - here's to sunny skies and clear nights! But we really do need some rain in St. Augustine.
